Summer has arrived in South Texas

Our 2009 season is officially over. It ended on April 28, and now we can begin the task of getting ready for next season which will open on Sept. 26, 2009. But first we will take a little time off for some rest and relaxation.
If for some reason you weren't able to come during the 2008 Christmas season, but you would like to receive our newsletter in August, please send an e-mail to minten@granderiver.net requesting one, and we'll put you on that one-time mailing list.
May is in full force here in South Texas. Summer is, too. It was over 100 degrees yesterday, and got up to 97 today. As always happens in South Texas, we went directly from winter to summer. There was no spring at all to speak of this year. We are in the midst of a really terrible drought, and there weren't any wildflowers. A few brave, pink primroses pushed their way up in our lawn and then just gave up. Please help us pray for rain.
God bless each of you who read this. Have a wonderful summer.
